Ella is a small village in the highlands of Sri Lanka which is filled with tea estates, mountains, and waterfalls and of course with some good air to breath. Ella is an enchanting mountain town in Sri Lanka that has quickly become a must-visit destination. The best time to visit Ella tends to be between January to April, and the rainiest months span from October to about mid-December. That being said, Ella is a popular year-round destination in Sri Lanka and is cooler than the coastal regions because of the altitude, so you should bring a scarf or light jacket.

Ella is a favorite among day hikers and more experienced trekkers alike. The two famous treks in the area are Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock, not to mention Ravana Falls and other famous waterfalls in the area. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. The town has a cooler climate than surrounding lowlands, due to its elevation. The Ella Gap allows views across the southern plains of Sri Lanka. Ella is a peaceful small village in the middle of a beautiful green countryside, with spectacular views! On a clear day, you can even see the glow from the lighthouses along the southern coast.
